I was down visiting my folks for no particular reason and saw this Turkey Vulture snacking on a squirrel carcass (not pictured—you're welcome) in the road. So, of course, I pulled my car over, yanked out the camera, and knelt in the road to snap a few shots.
When you see these guys circling in the air, you don't realize how strikingly colored their heads are.

Colder Than It Looks
This winter has been light on the snow so far, so the pictures sometimes look like clear summer days when they're actually pretty cold.
The downside of running has been that some days, after I've overdone it a bit, my joints can be pretty sore. The upside to that is that I still take a hike and bring the camera along.
